| Bio: | "The ferocity of a thousand tigers, but the strength of one crane." To want so badly to have the sheer might to crush and destroy all obstacles, but to be forced to rely on other strengths to accomplish my goals. My path is the long road to humility, undoing enough of my pride that I can actually get done what I'm trying to do.
I've been a professional business computer programmer for seven years, which isn't what I was originally trying to do. I've been trying to learn video game programming and start down that road on a basis greater than the maybe four hours a week I presently manage to give to it. Assuming that some day I get off my butt and finish my website, you'll be able to view my progress there as far as game programming (and really, all of my spare-time programming tasks) are concerned.
Yes, I study kung fu. I've been studying martial arts for about 14 years, actually. I started with Tae Kwon Do, which I studied intensely for about five years before taking a long hiatus from formal training (ages 16 through 22). I started studying Wu Hsing Chuan in January of 2001, and will probably be doing it for quite a long time, assuming my knees hold out. After this it's on to Aikido, most likely, unless I can find something more alluring.
Some day I hope to develop story-driven video games that are as inspiring as the legends of storytelling - Tolkien, Roddenberry, Lucas, Gaiman, Lee. And if I can get Nobuo Uematsu to do some of my music, my journey will be complete. |
